Measurements between monkeys and hippos

We are back in Sierra Leone in person and on our way to Outamba National Park north of Kamakwie. Our goal: to make an inventory of the last remaining rainforest in West Africa in order to be able to create as good a “copy” as possible for our reforestation areas.

To do this, we made several vegetation surveys, took soil samples, counted, measured and mapped trees with the help of Luc Bessel as a student assistant at the University of Münster. And finally, there was a boat ride on the Little Scarcies River with views of monkeys and pygmy hippos.

Interesting work days for the right cause!
