Hand in hand

The permanent structures in our tropical forest nursery continue to grow! A sturdy roof now shades the storage container and forecourt and protects it from the rain in the coming weeks. The advantage in Sierra Leone, with its mix of Christians and Muslims, is not least that work is carried out throughout the week – while the carpenter goes to the mosque on Friday and works on Sunday, the locksmith is on the building site on Friday and goes to church on Sunday. In the end, everyone celebrates the creation that we are preserving with our reforestation program – regardless of whether the name is Allah or God.
